2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD

The Sierra 2500 HD features five main trim levels: the Pro, the SLE, the SLT, the AT4, and the Denali. The AT4 is off-road-focused, while the Denali trim focuses on a more luxurious build. Colors depend on which trim you select, with six options for the Pro trim, eight options for the SLE and SLT models, six colors for the AT4 meant to blend in with your outdoor surroundings, and 10 color selections for the Denali trim. Other exterior features include built-in steps to reach the cargo area and vertical trailering mirrors.

The Sierra 2500 HD comes standard with a gas-powered 6.6-liter V-8 that generates 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque with a 6-speed transmission box. There's also a 6.6-liter diesel V-8 engine you can choose that has 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque and a 10-speed transmission. Both options come with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with the AT4 and Denali models having it as standard.

The EPA doesn't require heavy-duty pickups to perform any fuel economy testing, so they have no official predictions for the GMC Sierra 2500 HD's fuel efficiency. However, road tests from several sources predict that the fuel economy of this model is most likely around 16-19 mpg on the highway. For added off-road performance, you can choose the AT4 trim, which offers standard four-wheel drive, hill descent control, off-road suspension tuning, and underbody skid plates.

There are three cab options that you can select for the Sierra 2500 HD: a three-person single cab, a five-passenger double cab, or a crew cab that seats either five or six. The seat covers are cloth, vinyl, or perforated leather depending on your trim level, and can include heating and cooling front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Each Sierra 2500 HD comes standard with an 8-inch touch screen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with larger screen options available. There are USB charging ports in the front and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot as an option for the Pro or SLE trims but standard for other models. Other entertainment options include satellite radio, built-in navigation, and a rear-seat entertainment system. GMC also offers a mobile app that allows you to control all of your truck's entertainment features remotely, which can increase the usability of your technology.

The 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 HD has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for crash tests or general safety. However, this model does include several safety features and driver's assistance programs to help ensure a safe driving experience. This includes a camera system with 15 viewing modes, including a "transparent" mode that allows you to see behind a trailer as if it isn't there.

The Denali trim also has some driver assistance features that you can add to other trims, such as forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance.
